Google is unavoidable in the world of the Internet, unfortunately if your site is not on google you do not have access to about 90% of the market. Google in terms of internet and traffic is God and god cannot be challenged. Here are a few simple guidelines how to meet Google’s guidelines:

Basically this document is all about meta tags and meta titles on pages. It’s definately worth persuing in creating search engine friendly title and meta tags, this involves creating relevant, accurate title tags that describe the content on the page, creating accurate meta keywords that describe the page and content and writing useful and informative meta descriptions.
Remember the importance of URL structure and including the words you are trying to rank for in the url, for example if you are trying to rank for “kickboxing gloves” then the site http://www.kickboxing-equipment.co.uk/category/kickboxing-gloves/ is an excellent example, in this url is the keywords “kickboxing equipment” and “kickboxing gloves” which is ofcourse a type of kicboxing equipment. Google also knows this and Google also knows that kickboxing gloves is related to kickboxing equipment and is related it kickboxing in general, so any keywords that are clearly related to kickboxing will be relevant to the article, and will help the page to rank in Google for a closely related keyword phrase or phrases.
